Annual Verification Of Select Standards

On January 1, 2027, the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC) will implement a requirement for all accredited agencies to maintain a continuous three-year cycle of self-assessment. Under this requirement, agencies will submit proof(s) of compliance for forty (40) designated annual verification standards through the PowerStandards platform each year.

The required annual verification standards are available on the MPAC website under the Program Resources section. The annual reporting cycle will begin on the last day of an agency’s most recent assessment. For example, if an agency’s assessment concludes on June 10, 2026, Year 1 of compliance will begin on June 10, 2026, and end on June 9, 2027.

Facilitators will conduct a remote annual compliance review of the forty (40) required standards within thirty (30) days following the end of the reporting cycle. This review will include an evaluation of all submitted proofs for each standard. Agencies are expected to maintain and continuously update all standard files within the PowerStandards platform to ensure ongoing compliance and readiness for review.
