On January 1, 2027, the MPAC program structure will be revised. The current “Certification” program will be renamed “Accreditation” and will serve as the entry-level tier of the program. This level will continue to require compliance with the existing 178 standards.
The second tier, currently known as “Accreditation,” will be renamed “Advanced Accreditation.” This tier will include the 178 accreditation standards, the 96 advanced mandatory standards, and the applicable percentage of optional accreditation standards currently in use.
Re-assessments for both Accreditation and Advanced Accreditation will remain on a three-year cycle, aligned with the month of the agency’s most recent on-site assessment.
The change in title from “Certified” to “Accreditation” and from Accreditation” to Advanced Accreditation” will not take effect until an agency’s next assessment.
