The Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission extends its gratitude to Chief Russell Stevens (Hamilton PD) for his twelve (12) years of service to the Commission and congratulates him on his retirement.
Chief Stevens has over 41 years of Law Enforcement experience and is currently the Chief of Police in Hamilton Massachusetts.
Prior to his current position, Chief Stevens served on the Connecticut State Police retiring as the Chief of Staff to the Colonel with the rank of Lieutenant. He has held a wide array of operational and administrative positions to include Commanding Officer of the Emergency Services Unit, Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Training Academy Deputy Commandant, Barracks Commander, Field Training Officer/Supervisor and SWAT Team Leader.
Chief Stevens is past President of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, and a member of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Executive Board. He is also on the Executive Board for the Municipal Police Training Institute.
He is a graduate of the 232 Session of the FBI National Academy and holds a M.A. in Criminal Justice and a B.A. in Communications.
Chief Stevens became a Commissioner with MPAC on May 2/2013. In September of 2015 Chief Stevens became the Secretary of MPAC and Vice-President in September of 2016.
Chief Stevens was appointed as President of MPAC in September of 2019.
